The Minnesota Business Valuation Group Affiliates are an essential part of the Company and offer services critical to MBVG achieving its Mission. These professionals were the backbone of MBVG during its early years and when it operated almost entirely as a virtual company. The Affiliates remain critical because they contribute unique skills which permits MBVG to undertake more complex and larger tasks on a subcontract or joint venture basis. Ashok Abbott is associate professor of finance at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. He also taught at the Graduate school of Credit and Financial Management held at Dartmouth College and Stanford University. Professor Abbott received his M.B.A. in 1984, followed by a Ph.D. in finance in 1987. Professor Abbott has more than 20 years of experience in the valuation of businesses as a senior bank lender and as a business appraiser. He has served as an expert witness in business valuation for 10 years. He provides important support through his studies on discounts for lack of liquidity and marketability for MBVG. Mathew (Matt) Hawthorne is an industry analyst providing research and analysis of industry and economic trends for corporate financial consultants, business brokers, and business valuation analysts. He has more than 10 years experience as a research analyst and has produced hundreds of industry reports covering a broad spectrum of industries from advertising to zinc. Ronald (Ron) Bruzek has conducted asset appraisals for more than 25 years. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser in the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), where he is certified in both real property/urban and machinery & equipment. Bruzek is also a member of the Commercial Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association. Before the Minnesota Business Valuation Group, Bruzek worked 24 years as an appraiser/analyst for Marshall & Stevens, a national appraisal company. At Marshall he specialized in real estate, construction, and machinery and equipment valuations. Rawley Thomas is President of Life Cycle Returns Technology (LCRT). Thomas is a central figure in the Minnesota Business Valuation Group, which is incorporating the LCRT platform in its work with both public and private companies. MBVG believes that this tool will enable MBVG to provide faster and more economic valuations for non-compliance related appraisals, including for evaluating strategic goals for clients, and for compliance related appraisals for portfolio managers. Stephen (Steve) Shulman and Anchin Block & Anchin LLP are important Affiliates of the Minnesota Business Valuation Group. Shulman is the partner-in-charge of ABA's litigation support, forensic and valuation services groups, in addition to the business risk services group. His background brings complementary skills and his position provides a strong geographical positioning for MBVG with his presence in New York City. Dr. Stanley (Stan) L. Pollock is the MBVG Affiliate in charge of healthcare and professional services. He is uniquely qualified in these areas, having earned multiple degrees and certifications as well as a practicing medical specialist. He is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a management consultant, and is a certified business and professional practice appraiser.
