Richard Morrill is Executive Vice President, Corporate Finance, Emergent Financial Group, Inc. in Edina, Minnesota. He has been in the retail securities and investment banking business for over 20 years. As part of MBVG, Richard adds depth to our understanding of market issues in the "real world".
Beginning with Engler & Budd, Co., in Minneapolis in 1981, Richard developed that firm's first syndicate department. Richard has since been engaged in structuring and syndicating numerous private placements, initial public offerings (IPO's), and secondary public offerings for local, regional and national companies. These have ranged from high-technology electronics and medical devices to gaming, restaurants, and apparel manufacturing.
Richard was a co-founder and owner of Marche Securities, Inc., in Minnetonka. He joined Emergent Financial in 2003. Emergent Financial is a licensed broker-dealer that clears trades through RBC Dain Correspondent Services. Emergent is a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).
Emergent Financial Group concentrates on discovery of early stage companies. Many of these trade in the public market, primarily the NASDAQ market.
Emergent selectively assists start-up and developmental stage companies with funding and related corporate finance needs, including raising capital through private placements, mergers and / or acquisitions, and other appropriate resources.
Richard has a BA Degree in Economics and Business from St. Cloud State College (1969), a MS Degree in Education from Mankato State College (1971), and has obtained further graduate studies at Syracuse University. Richard holds a Series 7 and Series 63 securities license, and he is also a Registered Options Principal.
